08/03/2020 Blessed in Beebe

So this week is not how I thought it would turn out. But it was super blessed nonetheless.

I had a great least day in Hot Springs. I am going to miss that place. I played Magic the Gathering with my companion and someone we are teaching. He wrecked us.

In between leaving Hot Springs and going to Beebe, Elder Keele and I (both waiting to train) got to spend time with the Technology Specialist Elders. That was fun. One of them, Elder Widtfeldt, participated in the same robotics competition I was in during High School so we talked a lot about that. We also like all the same youtube channels, so we talked about that for a long time too. People in robotics seem to just have good (or really bad) taste in entertainment.

At the end of the orientation on thursday, I got assigned my trainee, Elder Danielson. He is awesome. I barely need to train him. He's ready to go. He is far more prepared than I was!

I was thinking our apartment was going to have four missionaries in it, but Elder Baird's companion has not arrived yet (Elder Baird was getting a reassigned missionary). Instead of putting us in a trio in Beebe, Elder Baird got shipped off to Dardanelle, AR while he waits for his new companion while still technically being assigned to Beebe.... Idk I just work here.

However, we did get one evening of being a trio with Elder Baird before he got picked up and shipped off, and in that one evening, we put someone on date! Next day, we put another person on date for baptism! We are blessed here in Beebe! The missionaries before us have really set us up for a great transfer!

Beebe is a very small town, only about 8,000 people. Smallest town I have served in. But the ward seems really on top of things. Also, the ward meets in the second floor of a bank. I was born in a strip mall (Midtown), and will die in a bank (Beebe).

I have seen the hand of the Lord so much this past week. Super grateful. Let's see what next week brings!

Pictures
1) Elder Danielson and I. Yeah. He's over 6 feet tall. I always seem to get the tall ones.

2) the toy section of Dirt Cheap in Hot Springs. Count the paper-mache T Rexes. There are at least 25

3) it was actually Elder Widtfeldt's birthday while I was with them. The tech specialist, the social media sisters, the new Benton Zone Leaders, the office Elders, and Elder Keele and I went to BJ's A pretty nice grill and bar. Elder Witdfeldt did turn 21, but we did not hit the bar.

4) Dirt Cheap had my favorite glasses for less than a dollar. I just had to buy another pair. Elder Probst and I looking pretty fly for two white guys in shirts and ties
