02/17/2020 Meeting Elder Rasband

It has been a great week back here in Memphis. I already have had a good head start on knowing the area. All the major roads and community names are familiar to me, so I haven't really been all that lost this week as I start to get comfortable with the area. 

Elder Davidson is from Pocatello, Idaho. My first Idaho companion. This is his 4th transfer in the mission. He's also 6'4". Not my first giant companion. 

We are teaching quite a few awesome people here in Memphis. One of them, Eronica, came to stake Conference this past Sunday and met President Hansen. She is super awesome. She will be out of town this next Sunday, but she might even attend church down where she's going! 

Speaking of Stake Conference, we had a visiting general authority! Elder Rasband



Of the seventy. 

We were notified about halfway through the week that "Elder Rasband" was coming. No specification of which Elder Rasband, so everyone is going to assume it's Ronald A Rasband, so we have been hyping up the people we have been visiting saying an apostle is coming. But to our surprise, it was not Ronald A. James R. Rasband was still really great. We got to meet him briefly on Saturday.

2) last P Day (back in Benton), we spent time at a member's recording studio out in East End. Got to bang on a drum kit and record a beat. It wasn't really good. A bit rubbish

So Elder Matt (EM) is serving in the Arkansas Little Rock mission. He was dropped off at the MTC in Provo by his brother, his sister, and brother in law. on the way to the airport in MN on Tuesday Laters How can babies walk away from their parents this easily??? "OK you can go now" In N Out Burger before the MTC induction on Wednesday. 11/1/2018 titled "Letter 2 Electric Boogaloo"

Week 2 of the MTC. It definitely went faster than the first week. This email is just going to be a splatter of experiences, descriptions, and stories probably. More about my companion: Elder Miller is from Arizona. He likes basketball, and played on a national team in high school, which is pretty rad. He's pretty goofy and can make everyone in the district laugh. He likes rap and country music the most, so we're kind of on the opposite when regards to the music spectrum.  MTC cafeteria food is a hit-miss. The breakfasts have gotten old really fast. It's the same "egg loaf" (scrambled eggs that's really more of a loaf than a scramble), bad ham, and oversalted hash browns every other day. The lunches and dinners range from great to bad. For the most part it's better than what I ate in college, but that's because I was paying for food and being super cheap, I ate sandwiches and rice. We sit together as a district for most meals.
