05/20/2019 Meatloaf

Hello. This week was pretty nice. We opened with the mission P-Day in Jacksonville, AR. It was pretty crazy trying to find rides there and back, but we did it. The Little Rock side gathered together for a good time, the Memphis side the next day. Since this is my first transfer on this side of the mission. There were quite a few missionaries that I had not met before.

The Arkadelphia area only really has one sizable city. And the other towns are over 15 miles away, making frequent stops there difficult on miles, and are much more spread out anyway, so missionaries over the years have mostly stuck to the city of Arkadelphia to do missionary work. And because Arkadelphia is still rather small (and especially small in the summers when many of the college students go home), Arkadelphia has been well tracted. We will be out and about talking to people, find someone new to teach, and it turns out the person is already recorded in our system and has been taught before. Every single person we found this week to teach is a formerly taught person. It's not a bad thing, in fact I think it's more good than bad. It's just such a stark contrast to Memphis where there are thousands of people living in the area who haven't spoken to missionaries before.

One person that we are teaching really likes meatloaf, so we bought meatloaf materials this week and a kind member made meatloaf for her. Other missionaries in our district found a lady to teach who really, really likes potato chips. Sweets are out of style I guess.

We also helped someone move this week. It took the entire day. She had a lot of stuff--furniture, boxes, a piano, an armoire, everything--and only two 5x10 storage units. I was starting to feel doubtful we'd be able to fit everything, but we did. We used almost every square inch, but we made it work.

Pics
1) mission P-Day. Really low resolution picture sadly, but you might be able to pick me out  [Mother's hint: not in front like usual]

2) deer outside the apartment.

3) after p day while waiting for dinner to be done at our appointment, we went fishing in their backyard. We were using broken poles and decade old lures, but we managed to catch 4 fish in the 20 or so minutes we had.
