03/04/2019 On date!

Yeah. We put someone on date to be baptized. For this Saturday! His name is Kortavious. He has been to church 3 times and we've met up with him. He is really cool and it's great to see the change in him since we met him. It's been incredible! He has been so committed to meeting with us and going to church. He also bore his testimony thus Sunday. It was really sweet! 

Also another miracle. A couple weeks ago I talked about the identical twins and how one, the one that had a baptismal date back with Elder Paopao and Perkins, was away for medical treatment and the other, the one we met a couple weeks ago, was away for family matters. Well we were walking down the street they lived on and we ran into one of them (we couldn't tell because they are identical). He identified himself as Richard, the man who was away for medical treatment. He has come back from West Virginia! He is soon to be moving closer to downtown, but he was excited to meet us and told us to come back to help him move and study the scriptures with him. He also said he had the rest the whole Book of Mormon and really liked it. 

We also had the Branch Anniversary Party. It has existed for over a year now! We had 3 non-member friends we invited come, one being Kortavious. 

Random thing for this week: Also there's a gas station company I really like because its name is only a pun in the south: Dee's Oil.

2) the temple is really moving along, and there will be an open house in mid-April. Can't say whether I will still be on this side of the mission or not, but regardless it's really cool.

So Elder Matt (EM) is serving in the Arkansas Little Rock mission. He was dropped off at the MTC in Provo by his brother, his sister, and brother in law. on the way to the airport in MN on Tuesday Laters How can babies walk away from their parents this easily??? "OK you can go now" In N Out Burger before the MTC induction on Wednesday. EM's brother says there were other families at the restaurant that were going to be dropping off their missionaries leaving sister's apartment MTC parking garage drop off And about an hour later, EM sent his first email: I have arrived at the MTC alive. Paul, Hayley, and Austin did a good job dropping me off and keeping me company. Next week Thursday is my P day. That's when you can expect to receive an email from me next.

11/1/2018 titled "Letter 2 Electric Boogaloo"

Week 2 of the MTC. It definitely went faster than the first week. This email is just going to be a splatter of experiences, descriptions, and stories probably. More about my companion: Elder Miller is from Arizona. He likes basketball, and played on a national team in high school, which is pretty rad. He's pretty goofy and can make everyone in the district laugh. He likes rap and country music the most, so we're kind of on the opposite when regards to the music spectrum.  MTC cafeteria food is a hit-miss. The breakfasts have gotten old really fast. It's the same "egg loaf" (scrambled eggs that's really more of a loaf than a scramble), bad ham, and oversalted hash browns every other day. The lunches and dinners range from great to bad. For the most part it's better than what I ate in college, but that's because I was paying for food and being super cheap, I ate sandwiches and rice. We sit together as a district for most meals.
